Update from Beirut with Corsaire

Corsaire Vining, who moved to Beirut, Lebanon 5 years ago, continues living life, loving others, and serving faithfully. She does this in spite of, and perhaps because of, all she learned and experienced in those same 5 years. She moved to Lebanon to help with Home of Hope, which is a school/home for kids rescued off the streets. Although she has since transitioned to being on Staff at City Bible Church, which she also helped plant, she is still working hard to gather & organize paperwork and documentation for many of the children from Home of Hope. She stated that just getting this started is a huge step to moving forward in the process. She has a personal interest in this because for the last 18 months or so she has been trying to adopt a young teenage boy and the paperwork is dragging. Her heart and passion to help these kids keeps her in the fight.

Working at City Bible Church for the last two years (a very difficult period in Lebanon) has also been full of opportunities to help others. Corsaire is the Director of the Children’s Ministry, and is currently building the CBC Kids ministry team and training new teachers.

Along with the usual responsibilities that this entails, her position also includes coordinating events and helping build community in the Body. Birthdays, weddings, goodbye parties and ladies’ prayer nights are just some of the celebrations she has organized. Recently, an exciting celebration included the baptism of two friends!

This week, Corsaire’s parents are coming for their first visit. She’s hoping there will be electricity and that they will have a special time seeing her life there. Maybe they will join her as she walks her dog Max through the neighborhood. She told me that there are several children who know her and Max and come up to greet them. These children dig through the dumpsters for plastics to sell. They’re from a poorer part of town but they dig there because more plastic is thrown away in that area. When she encounters the children, Corsaire feeds them as she can.

Please pray for Corsaire. That she might continue the good work God has set before her.

That she and her lawyer can find and organize all the documents they are looking for.

  • For her work at City Bible Church.
  • For the paperwork for her adopted son to be completed.
  • For the needs of the many children on the streets. and for whatever else God lays on your heart.
