You Make a Difference

This month we want to take a minute to share stories from the field – stories of how your donations have impacted the lives of others. We are thankful for the many donors and supporters who pray for and give generously to Tying Vines projects. We know sometimes it’s hard to feel connected to these far-away places, but know that lives are being changed. You are making a difference.

Here are a few encouraging stories from the field:

I grew up Hindu in Nepal and was very religious. While working as a security guard in another country, I received a gift. I thought it was just a simple Christmas gift; but when I opened it, I found treasures that changed my life!

I began listening to audio scriptures and I watched The Jesus Film in my own language for the first time. I couldn’t stop listening to the stories of this man named Jesus, and my friends at Nomads were able to help me learn even more. They met with me, answered many questions, and gave me a Bible in my own language so I could study.

My life has changed since I realized I could have a personal relationship with Jesus. I’m so thankful someone sponsored this gift which completely changed my heart and my life. God bless you all.

This was my first year working at Hope Academy and my financial support was quite low. I felt compelled to consider fostering a young boy, Hamoudi, but it seemed impossible because I couldn’t even support myself. I began to pray about my support. I knew that funding was critical to this decision – you can’t leave because you don’t have money when you take on the responsibility of fostering a child, especially a child that already struggles with abandonment.

So, I reached out to my donors. One of my good friends offered to match funds up to $1000. She not only made this generous offer, but she also put together a message I could send out to my supporters. What an incredible gesture of compassion and tangible help!

These actions not only impacted me, but one of my non-Christian colleagues at the school. She was with me when I received the news and I was able to share how God provides when we step out in faith. It was a great opportunity to share, and also remind myself that God is always faithful when we trust and obey.

We were in desperate need of a new house parent at Home of Hope to help care for the kids, but we had no money in the budget to hire one. A kindhearted sponsor stepped forward and offered to donate the salary for a house parent for an entire year! This transformed lives; allowing us to not only increase the quality of care provided to the kids, but reduce the stress on the other overworked house parents. We are so grateful for this one act that touched so many lives and helped us make a greater impact as an organization.

The generosity of our donors and partners is awe-inspiring. We still can’t get over how fast our carpentry school came together this year through a lot of hard work and genuine enthusiasm.

As much as we share about equipping young women with job skills and vocational training for their livelihoods, we believe it’s important to help the young men in refugee camps develop new skill sets as well, and they are eager to learn.

This month your donations made it possible for our carpentry school boys to make 60 toys to give away to other refugee children over the holidays. From all of us at Walk With Me, thank you – we are changing lives together!

These are just a few stories of how your donations are helping make a difference in the lives of so many around the world, and we hope to share much more in 2020.

From all of us at Tying Vines, Thank you and God bless you this Christmas season and in the coming New Year!
