Caring for the Forgotten: How Churches in Zambia Are Changing Lives
The School of Peace provides Gaza refugee children with education, daily meals and a safe space to heal, helping restore
In 2022 they joined with Tying Vines and along with their two very young boys Noah age 3 and baby Lukas, moved the family to Finland. The first year has been a mixture of wonderful adventures in life and ministry as well as challenges of settling a young family in a different country.
Gabriel writes in his blog that they have a steady stream of students participating in the youth ministry ranging in age from elementary to high school. The pre teen group is “growing like a wildfire”. He is committed to equipping and discipling the students. One of place that has been especially encouraging is the boy’s Bible Study on Saturdays. The guys are “growing together as brothers and pursuing those who aren’t ‘cool’.” They show up weekly to study and hear God’s word and grow together. Also exciting is the relatively new monthly Sports outreach that is beginning to catch on in the area.
Both Heidi and Gabe are thankful to be serving in Finland and look forward to what God will do in them and through them at the church as Youth Leaders and in the community as lovers of Jesus. Please pray for them as they continue with the work there and also for more youth leaders as the need is already great!
