GIVE THROUGH DONOR ADVISED FUNDS

Turn the resources you’ve already set aside for generosity into Lasting Impact.

A DAF can be a simple, flexible way to support the causes you care about while keeping your giving organized in one place.

If you have a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), you can recommend a grant to Tying Vines as part of your charitable giving.

LEARN MORE

What is a Donor-Advised Fund?

A Donor-Advised Fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving account.

You contribute cash or other assets to the account, may receive an upfront charitable tax deduction, and can then recommend grants from those funds to eligible nonprofit organizations over time. Funds held in a DAF may also be invested while they are waiting to be granted.

Think of it as one place to organize and intentionally manage your charitable giving.

Once funds are contributed to a DAF, they are committed to charitable purposes and cannot be withdrawn for personal use.

Why Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund?

A DAF can help make your generosity more intentional and organized.

By centralizing your charitable giving in one account, you can more easily track donations, set giving goals, create recurring grants, and support multiple causes over time.

If you already have funds in a DAF, recommending a grant to Tying Vines is one way to put those resources to work in support of our mission.

Don’t Have a Donor-Advised Fund?

You do not need a DAF to support Tying Vines.

But if you are looking for a way to organize your charitable giving, a Donor-Advised Fund may be worth exploring with your financial or tax advisor.

DAFs are offered by a wide range of providers, including charitable affiliates of financial institutions, community foundations, and cause-specific organizations. The guide notes that there are more than 1,150 DAF providers in the United States.

When comparing providers, donors may want to consider factors such as account minimums, values alignment, available tools, fees, and investment options.
