For more than two decades, Forgotten Voices Zimbabwe—formerly known as Forgotten Voices International—has been bringing hope to orphaned and vulnerable children affected by the AIDS crisis in southern Africa. Founded by Ryan Keith, the ministry began with a vision to empower local churches in Zimbabwe to care for children and families devastated by HIV/AIDS through sustainable, faith-based solutions.
In 2024, the USA Board of Directors joyfully passed leadership to local Zimbabwean ministry partners, ensuring the mission continues under indigenous direction. Bekithemba Moyo, who faithfully served as Country Director for over 12 years, now leads as the Founding Executive Director of Forgotten Voices Zimbabwe. Pastor Moyo has dedicated his life to serving the spiritually and materially poor in some of Zimbabwe’s most vulnerable communities since 1992.
Through a new partnership with Tying Vines, Forgotten Voices Zimbabwe continues its mission to equip churches to serve families in need. By the end of 2026, the organization aims to reach 40 children, 20 families, and 2 community churches, strengthening the foundation of hope across Zimbabwe. As Pastor Moyo shares, “Investing in the lives of children is building a strong future with hope for our beloved country.”
Pastor Moyo shared a story of one young man who has been helped. His words say more than perhaps anyone else could.
“My journey is a testament to the power of kindness and support. Growing up I faced many challenges. For two years Forgotten Voices cared for my basic needs, including food, allowing me to focus on my studies without the worry of how I was going to eat. Their support was instrumental in helping me excel academically. Beyond material assistance, their dedicated assistance gave me confidence and purpose to persevere. Today I am determined to give back to the community. My dream is to pursue Law Studies so I can bring justice, hope and change to my community.”
This is only one story of help. Pastor Bekithemba Moyo and the dedicated team at Forgotten Voices Zimbabwe continue to pray for the opportunity to reach even more orphaned and vulnerable children across the nation. The need is staggering – estimates range from 760,000 to 1.3 million children affected by the AIDS crisis in Zimbabwe, according to The Borgen Report and Springer Link. Whatever the exact number, the task before us is immense, and the call to respond is clear.

As a Pastor from Entumbane Presbyterian church I have seen and experienced the impact that FVI has done in our context for the past decades. I will commit myself to praying for Forgotten Voices Zimbabwe and will also encourage Entumbane Presbyterian Church to do likewise.
